Covid-19 & Bridge2Day

Health Workers

This is the first of a series of blogs about the impact of Covid-19 on bridge life.  Not only have our relationships been scrambled, but so have the sources of funding for our organizations.  Bridge clubs have lost the revenue from face-to-face games.  The ACBL has lost revenue from the clubs.  Bridge teachers have moved online and students are coping with the online learning experience.  For full disclosure, Bridge2Day is developing video on demand (VOD) training.

Bridge Base Online (BBO) is reaping a revenue banaza as players have migrated to playing online.  Clubs are building relationships with BBO to recoup revenue lost from face-to-face games.  Even the ACBL has built a relationship with BBO to recoup lost revenue from clubs and tournaments.  Players are paying more than ever to participate in BBO games even though the cost of hosting an online game runs far less than face-to-face games.

Future Covid-19 blog posts will focus on the ACBL, clubs, teaching, BBO, and players.

  1. Hiya, I am really glad I have found this information. Nowadays bloggers publish only about gossips and web and this is really frustrating. A good blog with interesting content, that’s what I need. Thank you for keeping this site, I’ll be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Cant find it.
