By partnership agreement:
- Opener has 15-17 total points and a balanced hand
- The team plays Stayman
- The team plays transfers
- Teams may optionally play one or more of the following advanced conventions:
- Puppet
- Smolen Transfers
- 4-Way Transfers
- Lebensohl over interference.
Review each advanced convention separately if your partnership wants to add them to your repertoire. The following responses exclude advanced convention bidding.
With 0-5 total points, Responder:
- Transfers to a 5+ card major suit
- Transfers to a 6+ card minor suit
- Passes.
With 6-9 total points, Responder:
- Bids 2-Clubs (Stayman) with a 4-card major suit
- Transfers to a 5+ card major suit
- Bids 2-NT with a balanced hand
- Transfers to a 6+ card minor suit
- Texas Transfers with a 6+ major suit.
With 10-15 total points, Responder:
- Bids 3-NT with a balanced hand
- Bids 2-Clubs (Stayman) with a 4-card major suit.
With 16-17 total points, Responder bids 4-NT
- Opener will pass with 15-16 total points
- Opener will bid 6-NT with 17 points.
With 18+ total points, Responder bids 6-NT
- Opener will pass with 15-16 total points
- Opener will bid 7-NT with 17 total points.
